Dressmaker currently uses keyboard and mouse. A developer says native controller support is not available yet, even though the game runs smoothly on Steam Deck. Steam also lists a Mouse Only Option and play without Quick Time Events.
Controls documented in the available guides
| Task | Input described |
|---|---|
| Measure | Drag the measuring tape over the client's bust, waist and hips. |
| Choose parts and fabric | Select a bodice, sleeves, skirt and fabric in the sketchbook and inventory. |
| Inspect a pattern piece | Hover to see its name and mannequin position. |
| Sew a corner | Press S to slow down; Sew Assist is available in Settings. |
| Place accessories | Turn on Accessory Rotation Gizmo in Settings for X, Y and Z handles. |
The available official material does not provide a complete keyboard shortcut map. Follow the prompts in your current build for actions not listed here; a prototype control tip may differ from the released game. For the full crafting sequence, use the beginner tutorial. For gamepad and Steam Deck details, see controller support.
